INTRODUCTION
Sodium nitrate, is an inorganic compound. It is a colourless transparent or white to yellow crystalline powder. Sodium nitrate is extremely soluble in water, liquid ammonia, soluble in methanol and ethanol, very slightly soluble in acetone, slightly soluble in glycerol, soluble in water, heat absorption, the solution becomes cold, aqueous solution is neutral.
Sodium nitrate is mainly used in the manufacture of nitric acid, sodium nitrite, can also be used as glass, matches, enamel or ceramics industry ingredients, fertilisers, as well as the system of sulphuric acid industry in the catalyst and so on. In addition, it is also the raw material for the manufacture of potassium nitrate, mining explosives, picric acid, dyes, etc., and can be used as concrete admixture, glass decolourant, antirust agent, as well as the colouring agent and flavouring agent in the food industry.
However, sodium nitrate also has certain dangers. It is a strong oxidising agent, which can promote the fire when it meets combustible materials on fire, and can cause combustion and explosion when it comes into contact with easily oxidised materials, sulphur, reducing agents and strong acids. In addition, although sodium nitrate itself is non-toxic, it generates toxic sodium nitrite when heated, and a large amount of oral intake of sodium nitrate may lead to vomiting, abdominal pain, blood in the stool, toxic shock, generalised convulsions, impaired consciousness, coma and other symptoms, or even death.

STORAGE & TRANSPORTATION
Sealed and stored in a cool and dry warehouse.The package must be sealed against moisture.Rain and sun exposure shall be prevented during transportation.
PROTECTION
Production personnel shall wear masks to prevent inhalation of sodium nitrate dust during work and protect respiratory organs: wear work clothes and latex gloves to protect skin.
